The Story

Small's penstemon are native to the mountains of the Southeastern United States. They typically bloom in late spring or early summer with branched panicles of white to purple flowers. They are most often pollinated by bees, and will attract other pollinators. The plants are generally found within or around rock outcrops and slopes, open rocky woodlands, cliffs and forest openings, and prefer circumneutral soils lacking in fertility.
