Surprisingly, this exotic-looking perennial is hardy and grows wild in much of the US and Canada! This large pitcher opens upwards, often partially full of rainwater. Plants form a dense rosette of low-growing pitchers.
The large flowers are extremely showy, rose to dark-pink, and nodding with an umbrella-like style. They are held on tall stems above the plants. The flowers last several weeks, attracting spring pollinators.
