This hardy perennial is native to central Europe, found in nutrient poor grasslands, rocky areas and dry meadows. Generally spreads with runners once established, will need to be controlled, but can be a great plant for erosion control. A great option for an addition to a pollinator garden, a rock garden or can be used for a green roof. If grown in a manicured garden, pruning will be necessary after the blooms have died back. Blooms from June to August. Does not do well in wet areas and should be grown in dry, sunny areas.
